Speaker Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The stereo component amplifier sends sound signals to the speaker.

1. CHECK AUDIO MODELS

5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER)




(a) Disconnect the L2 speaker connector.
(b) Disconnect the U44 amplifier connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER
6. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER




(a) Disconnect the K23 and K62 speaker connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the speaker.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK DEFECTIVE SPEAKER AND VEHICLE EQUIPMENT
(a) Check which side of the vehicle the defective speaker is on. Also, check if the vehicle is equipped with the LEXUS Link System.

8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAYDAY ECU - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER AND FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER)




(a) Disconnect the U30 amplifier connector.
(b) Disconnect the K62 speaker connector.
(c) Disconnect the U45 ECU connector.
(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
9. CHECK STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER (OPERATION)
(a) After replacing the stereo component amplifier with a normal one, check that audio sound can be heard from the front RH side speaker.
OK:
Audio sound can be heard.
NG -- REPLACE MAYDAY ECU
OK -- END (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER IS DEFECTIVE)
10. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER)




(a) Disconnect the U30 amplifier connector.
(b) Disconnect the K23 and K62 speaker connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER
11. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER




(a) Disconnect the M7 and M1 speaker connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the speaker.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER
OK -- Continue to next step.
12. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER - FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER)




(a) Disconnect the K23, K62, M7 and M1 speaker connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

13. CHECK SPEAKER
(a) Check the malfunctioning speakers.

(a) Disconnect the U30 amplifier connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

16. INSPECT REAR NO. 1 SPEAKER




(a) Disconnect the O1 and O6 speaker connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the speaker.

17. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER - REAR NO. 1 SPEAKER)




(a) Disconnect the S8, S4, O1 and O6 speaker connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

18. INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER




(a) Disconnect the U21 speaker connector.
(b) Measure the resistance of the speaker.

19. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER)




(a) Disconnect the U44 amplifier connector.
(b) Disconnect the U21 speaker connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

24. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER




(a) Disconnect the K23 and K62 speaker connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the speaker.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER
OK -- Continue to next step.
25. CHECK DEFECTIVE SPEAKER AND VEHICLE EQUIPMENT
(a) Check which side of the vehicle the defective speaker is on. Also, check if the vehicle is equipped with the LEXUS Link System.

26. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAYDAY ECU - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER AND FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER)




(a) Disconnect the U31 amplifier connector.
(b) Disconnect the K62 speaker connector.
(c) Disconnect the U45 ECU connector.
(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.
27. CHECK STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER (OPERATION)
(a) After replacing the stereo component amplifier with a normal one, check that audio sound can be heard from the front RH side speaker.
OK:
Audio sound can be heard.
NG -- REPLACE MAYDAY ECU
OK -- END (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER IS DEFECTIVE)
28. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER)




(a) Disconnect the U31 amplifier connector.
(b) Disconnect the K23 and K62 speaker connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER
29. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER




(a) Disconnect the M8 and M2 speaker connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the speaker.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER
OK -- Continue to next step.
30. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER)




(a) Disconnect the U30 amplifier connector.
(b) Disconnect the M8 and M2 speaker connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

31. CHECK SPEAKER
(a) Check the malfunctioning speakers.

32. INSPECT REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER
(a) Check that the malfunction disappears when the speaker is replaced with a normal one.
OK:
Malfunction disappears.
HINT:
- Connect all the connectors to the rear No. 2 speakers.
- When there is a possibility that either the right or left rear speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.
- Perform the inspection above on both LH and RH sides.

33. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER)




(a) Disconnect the U31 amplifier connector.
(b) Disconnect the S8 and S4 speaker connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

34. INSPECT REAR NO. 1 SPEAKER




(a) Disconnect the O6 and O1 speaker connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the speaker.

OK -- Continue to next step.
35. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER - REAR NO. 1 SPEAKER)




(a) Disconnect the O6, O1, S8 and S4 speaker connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

36. INSPECT REAR HEADER SPEAKER




(a) Disconnect the V21 and U17 speaker connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the speaker.

37. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - REAR HEADER SPEAKER)




(a) Disconnect the U30 amplifier connector.
(b) Disconnect the V21 and U17 speaker connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

38. INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER




(a) Disconnect the U21 speaker connector.
(b) Measure the resistance of the speaker.
