Only Wireless Control Function Is Inoperative
DOOR LOCK: WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM: Only Wireless Control Function is Inoperative
Only Wireless Control Function is Inoperative
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The door control receiver receives a signal from the transmitter and send the signals to the main body ECU RH through the certification ECU. The main body ECU RH then controls all doors by sending LOCK / UNLOCK signals to each door ECU, hazard flasher relay operation signals to the turn signals flasher relay (turn signal lights) and wireless door lock buzzer sound signals to the wireless door lock buzzer.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL FUNCTION
(a) Check the wireless door lock control functions Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
OK:
Each function of wireless door lock control system operates normally using transmitter switch.
OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK THAT TRANSMITTER LED ILLUMINATES
(a) Check that the transmitter's LED illuminates 3 times when the switch is pressed 3 times.
OK:
Transmitter's LED illuminates 3 times when switch is pressed 3 times.
NG -- CHECK TRANSMITTER BATTERY (OPERATION)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL FUNCTION (STANDARD OPERATION)
(a) Check standard LOCK / UNLOCK switch operation.
NOTICE:
Standardized test procedure: press the transmitter switch for 1 second, directing the beam to the driver side door outside handle from a distance of 1 m (3.28 ft.). The transmitter should be pointed directly at the handle, i.e. at a 90° angle to the vehicle body.
NG -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CERTIFICATION ECU - DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK TRANSMITTER BATTERY (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the transmitter battery with a new or normally functioning one Removal.
(b) Check that the doors can be locked and unlocked by using the transmitter LOCK / UNLOCK switch.
OK:
Doors can be locked and unlocked with transmitter.
NG -- REPLACE DOOR CONTROL TRANSMITTER
OK -- END (TRANSMITTER BATTERY IS DEFECTIVE)
5.
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CERTIFICATION ECU - DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER)
(a) Disconnect the U28 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the U36 receiver connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SUPPLY VOLTAGE)
(a) Disconnect the U36 receiver connector.
(b) Measure the voltage of the ECU.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
7.
CHECK DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER (OUTPUT)
(a) Reconnect the U36 receiver connector.
(b) Measure the voltage between the terminal of the connector and body ground.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPLACE DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER
OK -- Continue to next step.
8. CHECK AMPLIFIER ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (GLASS ANTENNA)
(a) Visually inspect the entire glass antenna's lines for breaks.
(b) Using the tester, check that the glass antenna's lines do not have continuity breaks.
NOTICE:
- Wrap a piece of tin foil around the tip of the negative (-) tester probe as shown in the illustration. Press the foil against the antenna's lines with your finger without damaging the antenna, and inspect the antenna.
- If foreign matter on the glass needs to be cleaned, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the glass along the antenna's lines without damaging the antenna.
- Do not use standard detergents or glass cleaners.
(1) Move the tin foil wrapped probe along the antenna's lines, and check for line breaks.
OK:
Based on visual inspection and tester inspection, antenna line breaks are not present.
NG -- REPAIR AMPLIFIER ANTENNA ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
9.
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER - AMPLIFIER ANTENNA)
(a) Disconnect the U36 receiver connector.
(b) Disconnect the U38 antenna connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
10. CHECK AMPLIFIER ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the amplifier antenna with a new or normally functioning one.
(b) Check that the doors can be locked and unlocked by using the transmitter LOCK / UNLOCK switch.
OK:
Doors can be locked and unlocked with transmitter.
OK -- END (GLASS ANTENNA IS DEFECTIVE)
NG -- Continue to next step.
11. CHECK DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the door control receiver with a new or normally functioning one.
(b) Check that the doors can be locked and unlocked by using the transmitter LOCK / UNLOCK switch.
OK:
Doors can be locked and unlocked with transmitter.
OK -- END (DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER IS DEFECTIVE)
NG -- Continue to next step.
12. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the certification ECU with a new or normally functioning one.
(b) Check that the doors can be locked and unlocked by using the transmitter LOCK / UNLOCK switch.
OK:
Doors can be locked and unlocked with transmitter.
NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH
OK -- END (CERTIFICATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE)
