Washer Motor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The front light ECU receives washer switch information from the front wiper switch, and operates the wash relay.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
(c) Select the item below in the Active Test and then check that the washer motor operates.

Body No. 5 (Front Controller):





OK:
Washer motor operates.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.

INSPECT WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY




(a) Remove the windshield washer motor and pump.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the windshield washer motor and check the operation of the windshield washer motor.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3.
CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the 1Y and 1X ECU connectors.
(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:





(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
