Dome Lamp: Testing and Inspection

LIGHTING: REAR ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY: INSPECTION

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT REAR ROOM LIGHT (PERSONAL LIGHT)

(a) Disconnect the R8 connector from the rear room light.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

(d) Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 3.
(e) Check that the personal light comes on.
OK:

If the result is not as specified, replace the rear room light assembly.
2. INSPECT REAR ROOM LIGHT (DOME LIGHT)

(a) Disconnect the R8 connector from the rear room light.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

(c) Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 4.
(d) Check that the rear interior light comes on.
OK:
Comes on
If the result is not as specified, replace the rear room light assembly.
(e) Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the (-) lead to terminal 5.
(f) Check that the rear seat light comes on.
OK:
Comes on
If the result is not as specified, replace the rear room light assembly.
