BRAKE: REAR BRAKE: REASSEMBLY
REASSEMBLY
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG
(a) Temporarily install the bleeder plug to the disc brake caliper.
HINT: The bleeder plug will be tightened to a torque specification in the "BLEED AIR FROM REAR BRAKE SYSTEM" procedure.
2. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG CAP
3. INSTALL PISTON SEAL
(a) Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire inner and outer circumference of 2 new piston seals.
(b) Install the 2 piston seals to the rear disc brake caliper.
4. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PISTON
(a) Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the inner and outer circumference of a new cylinder boot, as well as the entire circumference of the top and bottom of the outer edge, as shown in the illustration.
(b) Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire outer circumference of the 2 rear disc brake pistons where they contact the cylinder boots and rear disc brake cylinder.
(c) Install the 2 cylinder boots to the 2 rear disc brake pistons.
5. INSTALL CYLINDER BOOT
(a) Install the 2 rear disc brake pistons to the rear disc brake caliper.
NOTICE:
Do not forcibly install the piston into the disc brake caliper.
(b) Install one side of each of the 2 cylinder boots to the rear disc brake caliper.
NOTICE:
- Install the cylinder boot securely to the grooves of the cylinder and piston.
- Do not damage the cylinder boot.
