INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
Check if DTC B2402 is output. If output, refer to the following procedures B2402.
HINT: With the power switch OFF, if the rear junction block ECU is in sleep mode or is malfunctioning, the fail-safe line in the rear junction block ECU operates light illuminations.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC
(a) Check for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B2402 output does not occur.
NG -- GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (STOP LIGHT)
(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

OK:
Stop light condition is switched by Active Test.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (STOP LIGHT SWITCH)
(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

OK:
Condition sign can be displayed.
NG -- INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)

INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the stop light switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
5.
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - STOP LIGHT SWITCH)
(a) Disconnect the A35 switch connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6.
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LIGHT SWITCH - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
(a) Disconnect the S62 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the A35 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
7.
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
(a) Disconnect the LH ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
8. CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION
(a) Check the malfunctioning stop light.
Result

CHECK REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU (STOP1, STP2 VOLTAGE)
(a) Disconnect the S64 ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- Continue to next step.
10.
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the S64 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S51 and S52 light connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
for LH
for RH
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY

CHECK REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU (STP3 VOLTAGE)
(a) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.
12.
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S33 and S41 light connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
for LH
for RH
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY

CHECK REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU (STP4 VOLTAGE)
(a) Disconnect the S62 ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.
14.
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CENTER STOP LIGHT - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the S62 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S20 light connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- REPLACE CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
