SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: SPIRAL CABLE: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
2. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire) Removal
3. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Removal
4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
- After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
5. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
6. REMOVE SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE Removal
7. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal
8. REMOVE STEERING PAD Removal
9. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Removal
10. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/o Driver Monitor Camera) Removal
11. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera) Removal
12. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the connectors from the spiral cable with steering angle sensor.
NOTICE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
(b) Detach the 3 claws and remove the spiral cable with steering angle sensor.
(c) Detach the 6 claws and remove the spiral cable.
