Applicability
Introduction
Some vehicles may experience a condition where the HVAC system operation is delayed for the first few seconds after start up and the HVAC system resets to 75° F (24° C). This condition may be caused by a damaged air inlet door servo linkage. A new part kit and service procedure has been developed to address this condition.
NOTICE
The air inlet door servo linkage may be damaged if the cabin air filter is improperly replaced.

Repair Procedure
1. Verify the air inlet door servo linkage is damaged as shown.
2. Remove the Air Conditioning Unit.
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model and model year Repair Manual:
3. Remove the blower assembly (LS 460/600h only).
A. Remove the screw.
B. Disconnect the connector.
C. Detach the claw and remove the blower unit.
4. Remove the upper portion of the blower motor housing by removing the retaining screws.
5. Remove the foam around the HVAC Air Inlet.
6. Release the clips securing the upper portion of the blower motor housing to the bottom portion.
7. Separate the upper portion the blower motor housing by removing the retaining screws and clip.
8. Install the new Air Inlet Door
9. Install the new foam around the HVAC Air Inlet
10. Reattach the upper blower motor housing to the lower blower motor housing.
11. Reattach the blower motor housing to the HVAC box
12. Install the Air Conditioning Unit

13. Verify normal HVAC System Operation.
