How To Proceed With Troubleshooting





ENGINE IMMOBILIZER: ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

* Use the following procedures to troubleshoot the engine immobilizer system.
* Techstream should be used in steps 3 and 5.
1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. CRANK ENGINE FOR MORE THAN 10 SECONDS

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK FOR DTCS

(a) Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output Engine Immobilizer System.

(b) Delete the DTCs.

(c) Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output above, try to duplicate the SFI system DTC or engine immobilizer system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.

C -- GO TO DTC CHART
A -- Continue to next step.

4. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

(a) If the fault is not listed on the problem symptoms table, proceed to A.

(b) If the fault is listed on the problem symptoms table, proceed to B.

5. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING

(a) DATA LIST/ACTIVE TEST Engine Immobilizer System

(b) TERMINALS OF ECU Engine Immobilizer System
