How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
CRUISE CONTROL: DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
HINT
* Use these procedures to troubleshoot the dynamic radar cruise control system.
* *: Use the Techstream.
1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
Standard:
11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, replace or recharge the battery before proceeding.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN)*
(a) Use the Techstream to check if the Multiplex Communication System (MPX) is functioning normally.
Result:
B -- Go to MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)*
(a) Use the Techstream to check for normal function of CAN communication system.
(1) Perform bus check (communication malfunction DTC).
(2) Perform bus check (communication bus check).
Result:
B -- Go to CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK FOR DTC*
Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.
(a) Check for DTC and note any codes that are output.
(b) Delete the DTC.
(c) Recheck for DTC. Try to prompt the DTC by simulating the original activity that the DTC suggests.
Result:
B -- Go to step 8
A -- Continue to next step.
6. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
Refer to the problem symptoms table Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.
Result:
B -- Go to step 8
A -- Continue to next step.
7. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING*
(a) Terminals of ECU Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.
(b) Data List/Active Test Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
8. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE
NOTICE:
* When the distance control ECU is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed Installation.
* When the millimeter wave radar sensor is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed Adjustments.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
9. CONFIRMATION TEST
