Removal





2GR-FSE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL VALVE: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH Removal

7. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH Removal

9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH Removal

10. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Removal

11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Removal

12. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

13. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

14. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE Removal

15. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE Removal

16. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY Removal

17. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK Removal

18. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1)





(a) Disconnect the oil control valve connector.

(b) Remove the bolt and oil control valve.

(c) Remove the O-ring from the oil control valve.

19. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Intake Side of Bank 1)

(a) Remove the bolt and V-bank cover bracket.





(b) Disconnect the oil control valve connector.





(c) Remove the bolt and oil control valve.

(d) Remove the O-ring from the oil control valve.

20. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Intake Side of Bank 2)

(a) Disconnect the oil control valve connector.





(b) Remove the bolt and oil control valve.

(c) Remove the O-ring from the oil control valve.

21. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2)

(a) Disconnect the wiring harness from the bracket.





(b) Remove the bolt and bracket.

(c) Disconnect the oil control valve connector.





(d) Remove the bolt and oil control valve.

(e) Remove the O-ring from the oil control valve.
