B2057 - Yaw Rate Sensor

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when a malfunction in the yaw rate sensor is detected. This circuit consists of the yaw rate sensor and seat belt control ECU. Signals are sent from the yaw rate sensor through CAN communication.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* When the seat belt control ECU is replaced with a new one, Initialization must be performed Pre-Collision System.
* When the distance control ECU is replaced with a new one, Initialization must be performed Installation.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System.

(b) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (30 mph) or more.

(c) Recheck for DTCs.

OK:

CAN communication system DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM)

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Start the power.

(c) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 30 km/h (18 mph) or more, turn the steering wheel, and decelerate the vehicle (depress the brake pedal).

(d) Check DTC for electronically controlled brake system Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

Electronically controlled brake system DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. REPLACE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU

(a) Replace the distance control ECU Removal.

(b) Initialize the distance control ECU Installation.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTC Pre-Collision System.

(b) Drive the vehicle.

(c) Recheck for DTCs.

OK:

DTC B2057 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU

OK -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS (SYMPTOM SIMULATION)
