DESCRIPTION

The door courtesy light turns on when the door is opened and turns off when closed.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK OPERATION OF COURTESY LIGHT AND OUTER SCUFF LIGHT

(a) When a door is opened, check that the following lights illuminate.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (COURTESY LIGHT)

(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the courtesy light illuminates.

B -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR OUTER SCUFF LIGHT LH

3. PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

4. REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT LH

(a) Temporarily replace the front door courtesy light LH with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the courtesy light illuminates.

OK:

Courtesy light illuminates.

OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR ECU LH - FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT LH)

(a) Disconnect the M9 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the Q15 light connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

6. PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

7. REPLACE FRONT DOOR OUTER SCUFF LIGHT LH

(a) Temporarily replace the front door outer scuff light LH with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the outer scuff light illuminates.

OK:

Outer scuff light illuminates.

OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR ECU LH - FRONT DOOR OUTER SCUFF LIGHT LH)

(a) Disconnect the M9 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the Q14 light connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

9. PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

10. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (COURTESY LIGHT)

(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the courtesy light (front door RH) illuminates.

12. REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT RH

(a) Temporarily replace the front door courtesy light RH with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the courtesy light illuminates.

OK:

Courtesy light illuminates.

13. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR ECU RH - FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT RH)

(a) Disconnect the M4 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the Q8 light connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

14. PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

15. REPLACE FRONT DOOR OUTER SCUFF LIGHT RH

(a) Temporarily replace the outer scuff light (front door RH) with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the outer scuff light illuminates.

OK:

Outer scuff light illuminates.

OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.

16. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR ECU RH - FRONT DOOR OUTER SCUFF LIGHT RH)

(a) Disconnect the M4 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the Q7 light connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

17. PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

(b) Check that the courtesy light illuminates.

21. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR DOOR ECU LH - REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT LH)

(a) Disconnect the O7 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the S6 light connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:

(b) Check that the courtesy light illuminates.

26. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR DOOR ECU RH - REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT RH AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the O3 ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the S2 light connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
