Hood: Adjustments





ENGINE HOOD / DOOR: HOOD: ADJUSTMENT





HINT
* Centering bolts are used to mount the hood hinge and hood lock. The hood and hood lock cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts (with washers) when making adjustments.
* A bolts without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.
1. ADJUST HOOD

(a) Adjust the hood's position.





(1) Loosen the hood's 4 hinge bolts.

(2) Move the hood and adjust the clearance between the hood and front fender.

(3) Tighten the hood's 4 hinge bolts after the adjustment.

Torque : 13 Nm (134 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)

(b) Adjust the cushion rubber so that the height of the hood and fender are aligned.





HINT
Raise or lower the hood's front end by turning the cushion rubber.

(c) Adjust the hood lock.





(1) w/ Millimeter wave radar sensor:

Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

(2) w/ Millimeter wave radar sensor:

Disconnect the connector.

(3) w/ Millimeter wave radar sensor:

Remove the 3 bolts and millimeter wave radar sensor.

(4) Using a screwdriver, remove the hood lock nut cap as shown in the illustration.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.





(5) Loosen the 3 bolts and nut.

(6) Adjust the hood lock position so that the striker can enter it smoothly.

(7) Tighten the bolts and nut after the adjustment.

Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

(8) Install a new cap.

(9) With Millimeter wave radar sensor:

Install the millimeter wave radar sensor with the 3 bolts.





Torque : 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)

(10) With Millimeter wave radar sensor:

Connect the connector.

(11) With Millimeter wave radar sensor:

Connect the cable to the battery negative (-) terminal.

(12) With Millimeter wave radar sensor:

Perform the initialization.

NOTICE:
Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

(13) With Millimeter wave radar sensor:

Inspect the SRS warning light.
