Power Mirror Surface Position Is Not Memorized

MIRROR: POWER MIRROR CONTROL SYSTEM: Power Mirror Surface Position is not Memorized
- Power Mirror Surface Position is not Memorized

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

When the seat memory M1, M2 or M3 switch is pressed, the multiplex network master switch assembly sends a memory switch status signal to the position control ECU and switch assembly LH (driver side). then the position control ECU and switch assembly LH send the following to the front multiplex network door ECU LH and RH: 1) a memory M1, M2 or M3 call signal, and 2) driver and passenger seat mirror position call signals recorded in memory. When the door ECU LH and RH receive the memory M1, M2 or M3 call signal, and then receive the driver and passenger seat mirror position replay signal, the door ECU LH and RH activate the mirror control motors to move the mirrors to the previously recorded positions.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK SEAT MEMORY SWITCH FUNCTION (SEAT POSITION MEMORY FUNCTION)

(a) Check that the driver side seat can be moved using the seat memory switch.

OK:

Driver side seat can be moved using seat memory switch.

NG -- GO TO FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK SEAT MEMORY SWITCH FUNCTION (REGISTRATION OF SEAT MEMORY SWITCH)

(a) Check that the memory operation is properly completed.

HINT
A buzzer sounds when the door mirror position and mirror facing direction are memorized.

NOTICE:
* The seat position will not be recorded if the SET switch and 2 or more of the memory switches (for example, M1 and M2) are pressed simultaneously.
* If the operation fails, the mirror facing direction will not be memorized until the SET switch is turned off.
* The mirror facing direction will not be memorized when the mirror is operated manually.

OK:

Driver side seat position can be memorized using seat memory switch (driver side).

NG -- GO TO FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MIRROR POSITION SENSOR)

(a) Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the mirror position sensor.

Front multiplex network door ECU LH, RH:

OK:

Output voltage is as shown in table above.

OK -- REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY
NG -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the z5or z6 mirror connector.

(b) Apply battery and dry cell battery voltage to the terminals as shown in the table below.

(c) Measure the voltage while the mirror moves between the fully downward and fully upward positions.

Standard voltage:

Outer rear view mirror assembly LH (driver side)
Outer rear view mirror assembly RH (passenger side)

(d) Measure the voltage while the mirror moves between the fully left and fully right positions.

Standard voltage:

Outer rear view mirror assembly LH (driver side)
Outer rear view mirror assembly RH (passenger side)

Result:

D -- REPLACE OUTER MIRROR ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY RH

C -- REPLACE OUTER MIRROR ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY LH

B -- REPLACE FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH

A -- REPLACE FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH
