Installation





BRAKE: FRONT BRAKE: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install the disc brake cylinder with 2 new bolts.





Torque : 78 Nm (799 kgf-cm, 58 ft-lbf)

2. CONNECT FRONT BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE

(a) Connect the flexible hose with the union bolt and a new gasket.





Torque : 39 Nm (400 kgf-cm, 29 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the disc brake cylinder.

3. INSTALL DISC BRAKE PAD KIT FRONT

(a) Install the No. 1 anti-squeal shim and No. 2 anti-squeal shim to each disc brake pad.









NOTICE:
* When replacing worn pads, the anti-squeal shims must be replaced together with the pads.
* The No. 1 anti-squeal shim is larger than the No. 2 anti-squeal shim. Make sure to install them in the correct order.
(b) Install the disc brake pad to the disc brake cylinder assembly.









NOTICE:
* for Type A: The upper and lower edges of the brake pads are chamfered differently. Install each brake pad to the correct side and in the correct position as shown in the illustration.
* for Type B: The upper and lower edges of the brake pads are the equally chamfered.
* The disc brake pad with the pad wear indicator is positioned on the inside of the vehicle.
* Install the disc brake pads in the correct directions.
* There should be no oil or grease on the shims and friction surfaces of the pads and disc.
4. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-RATTLE SPRING

NOTICE:
The anti-rattle spring can be used again if it has sufficient rebound; no deformation, cracks or wear; and has had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off.

5. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-RATTLE WITH HOLE PIN

NOTICE:
The pin hold clip can be used again if it has sufficient rebound; no deformation, cracks or wear; and has had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off.

(a) Install the hole pin while pushing on the front disc brake anti-rattle spring.





(b) Install the pin hold clip.

6. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL (for 1UR-FSE) Service and Repair

7. ADD RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID (for 2GR-FSE) Service and Repair

8. ADD RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID (for 1UR-FSE) Service and Repair

9. BLEED BRAKE LINE (for 2GR-FSE) Service and Repair

10. BLEED FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM (for 1UR-FSE) Service and Repair

11. INSTALL ABS MOTOR RELAY (for 1UR-FSE)

(a) Install the 2 ABS motor relays with the engine switch off.

12. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL (for 2GR-FSE) Service and Repair

13. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL (for 1UR-FSE) Service and Repair

14. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC (for 2GR-FSE)

(a) Check and clear the DTC Vehicle Stability Control System.

15. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC (for 1UR-FSE)

(a) Check and clear the DTC Service and Repair.

16. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK

17. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
