Removal





1UR-FSE LUBRICATION: OIL PUMP: REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

6. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY Removal

8. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET Removal

10. DRAIN ENGINE OIL Replacement

11. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY Removal

12. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER Removal

19. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER HOSE Removal

20. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE Removal

21. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE Removal

22. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY Removal

23. SEPARATE COMPRESSOR AND PULLEY Removal

24. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR Removal

25. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

26. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

(a) Disconnect the engine wire harness connector.

(1) Remove the ECM box cover (upper).

(2) Disconnect the 3 connectors and harness clamp.





(3) Using a screw driver, detach the claw as shown in the illustration.





(4) Remove the No. 4 connector holder from engine room ECM box.

(5) Disconnect the grommet and 5 connectors from engine room ECM box.





(6) Disconnect the camshaft timing control valve connector.





(7) Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

(8) Disconnect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

(9) Disconnect the fuel pump connector. (for high pressure)

(10) Disconnect the No. 8 engine wire connector.

(11) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the clamp and 2 clamp brackets.

(12) Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.





(13) Disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor connector.

(14) Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control motor connectors. (for Bank 1)

(15) Detach the clamp and disconnect the cooler compressor connector.

(16) Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the 3 clamps and ground wire.

(17) Remove the bolt and clamp bracket.

(b) Remove the bolt, and disconnect the clamp and ground cable.

39. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY Disassembly

40. REMOVE FRONT WATER BY-PASS JOINT Disassembly

41. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1) Removal

50. REMOVE NO. 3 V-BANK COVER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

51. REMOVE NO. 5 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

52. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) Disassembly

53. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 plugs and 2 gaskets.





(b) Remove the 30 bolts and nut shown in the illustration.





(c) Remove the timing chain cover by prying between the timing chain cover and cylinder head and cylinder block with a screwdriver as shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cylinder head, cylinder block and chain cover.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(d) Remove the oil pump gasket from the cylinder block.





(e) Remove the O-ring from the cylinder block.





54. REMOVE INLET WATER PIPE

(a) Remove the inlet water pipe.





(b) Remove the 2 O-rings from the inlet water pipe.
