DESCRIPTION

The engine room No. 2 relay block receives headlight HI switch information from the combination switch, and turns on the headlights.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the headlight assembly illuminates.

Body No. 5 (Front Controller)





OK:

Headlight assembly illuminates.

NG -- INSPECT FUSE (H-LP UPR, FR CTRL-B)

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

2. INSPECT FUSE (H-LP UPR, FR CTRL-B)

(a) Remove the FR CTRL-B fuse from the engine room No. 2 relay block.

(b) Remove the H-LP UPR fuse from the engine room No. 2 junction block.

(c) Measure the resistance of the fuses.

Standard resistance:

Below 1 Ohms

NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. REPLACE HEADLIGHT NO. 1 BULB (RH OR LH)

(a) Temporarily replace the headlight No. 1 bulb with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the bulb illuminates.

OK:

Headlight No. 1 bulb illuminates.

OK -- END
NG -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ENGINE ROOM NO. 2 JUNCTION BLOCK - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the 2E junction block connector.





(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ENGINE ROOM NO. 2 JUNCTION BLOCK - BODY GROUND)

(a) Check the wire harness between the headlight (LH) and engine room No. 2 junction block, and headlight (LH) and body ground.





(1) Disconnect the 2G junction block connector.

(2) Disconnect the B11 headlight (LH) connector.

(3) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





(b) Check the wire harness between the headlight (RH) and engine room No. 2 junction block, and headlight (RH) and body ground.





(1) Disconnect the 2G junction block connector.

(2) Disconnect the B2 headlight (RH) connector.

(3) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
