DESCRIPTION

The cowl side junction block ECU LH receives information regarding the door courtesy switch, door lock position switch, engine switch, and turns on the front room light.

WIRING DIAGRAM











PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the room light illuminates.

Body No. 3 (Cowl side junction block ECU LH)





OK:

Shift light illuminates.

NG -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU LH - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY)

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU LH - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the V1 junction block connector.





(b) Disconnect the W6 map light assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT FUSE (DOME, D/C CUT)

(a) Remove the DOME fuse and D/C CUT fuse from the engine room No. 1 relay block.

(b) Measure the resistance of the fuses.

Standard resistance:

Below 1 Ohms

NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the W6 map light assembly connector.





(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the W6 map light assembly connector.





(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT)





(a) Disconnect the W6 map light assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the W11 map light connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. REPLACE MAP LIGHT

(a) Temporarily replace the map light with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the light illuminates.

OK:

Map light illuminates.

OK -- END

NG -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
