DESCRIPTION

If an engine malfunction occurs, an engine malfunction signal is sent from the ECM portion of the hybrid vehicle control ECU to the HV portion of the hybrid vehicle control ECU. When the hybrid vehicle control ECU receives this signal, it sets a DTC and performs fail-safe control.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.

(d) Check if DTCs are output.

Result:





HINT
If P0A0F-204, 205, 206, 524, or 525 is output even though the ECM portion of the hybrid vehicle control ECU has not detected a malfunction, there is a malfunction in the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

(e) Turn the power switch off.
