* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING HOLE PLUG Removal
4. REMOVE REAR DISC Removal
5. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS
(a) Using a dial indicator, check for looseness near the center of the rear axle hub.
Maximum looseness:
0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)
NOTICE:
* Ensure that the dial indicator is set perpendicular to the measurement surface.
* Keep the magnet of the dial indicator away from the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
HINT
If the looseness exceeds the maximum, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
6. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT
(a) Using SST to hold the rear disc, tighten the rear disc with the 5 hub nuts.
SST : 09330-00021
Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
(b) Using a dial indicator, measure the disc runout 10 mm (0.394 in.) away from the outer edge of the rear disc.
Maximum runout:
0.15 mm (0.00590 in.)
NOTICE:
* Ensure that the dial indicator is set perpendicular to the measurement surface.
* Keep the magnet of the dial indicator away from the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
(c) If the runout exceeds the maximum, change the installation positions of the rear disc and rear axle hub so that the runout will be as low as possible. If the runout exceeds the maximum even when the installation positions are changed, shave the rear disc. If the rear disc needs to be shaved to less than the minimum, replace the rear disc. If the rear disc is replaced, perform the runout inspection again. If the runout still exceeds the maximum, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly with a new one.
