Rain Sensor: Testing and Inspection

WIPER / WASHER: RAIN SENSOR: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT RAIN SENSOR

(a) Disconnect the P7 rain sensor connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the harness or connector.

(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

(e) If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the harness or connector.

(f) Reconnect the rain sensor connector.





(g) Connect an oscilloscope to the rain sensor connector.

(h) Check for pulses.

OK:

(i) If the result is not as specified, the rain sensor may have a malfunction.
