Applicability

Introduction

Some 2010 HS25Oh vehicles may exhibit a creak type noise coming from the door switch base while opening and closing the front doors. This condition is caused by insufficient felt on the door switch mounting retainers. The following procedure has been developed to correct this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.





Parts Information

Repair Procedure

1. Remove the driver's side power window regulator master switch assembly with front armrest base panel.





A. Models without wood accent: Using a molding remover, disengage the 2 clips, 6 claws and 2 guides as shown in the illustration.





B. Models with wood accent: Using a molding remover disengage the 4 clips 4 claws and 2 guides as shown in the illustration.

C. Disconnect the connector and remove the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

2. Remove the passenger side power window regulator switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.





A. Models without wood accent: Using a molding remover disengage the 2 clips and 6 claws.





B. Models with wood accent: Using a molding remover disengage the 4 clips and 4 claws.

C. Disconnect the connector and remove the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

3. Remove 0.5 mm felt sheet from the interior noise kit.





4. Cut eight 5 mm X 20 mm pieces of felt.





5. Add four strips of felt to each clip area on the driver's side master switch assembly.

6. Repeat procedure on the passenger switch assembly.





7. Cut four 6 mm X 30 mm pieces of felt.





8. Add two strips of felt to the guides on the master switch assembly (driver's side).

9. Repeat procedure on the passenger side switch assembly.

10. Install the driver and passenger power window regulator switch assemblies with front door armrest base panel.

11. Confirm noise has been eliminated.
