B1000/31 - Center Airbag Sensor Assembly Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The center airbag sensor consists of the airbag sensor, the safing sensor, the drive circuit, the diagnosis circuit, the ignition control, etc.

If the center airbag sensor receives signals from the airbag sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be activated.

DTC B1000/31 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the center airbag sensor.





HINT
When a trouble code is displayed simultaneously with B1000/31, repair the malfunction indicated by the other code first.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
After the power switch is turned OFF, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal:





* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR

(a) Turn the power switch OFF.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

(d) Turn the power switch ON (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(e) Clear the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

(f) Turn the power switch OFF.

(g) Turn the power switch ON (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(h) Check for DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

OK:

DTC B1000 is not output.
