B1416/16 - Passenger Side Duct Sensor

DESCRIPTION

The air duct sensor (for passenger side) detects the register temperature and sends the appropriate signals to the air conditioning amplifier.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DUCT SENSOR (for Passenger Side))

(a) Use the Data List to check if the duct sensor (for passenger side) is functioning properly.

OK:

The display is as specified in the normal condition.

NG -- CHECK AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER (TFAR - SG-3 VOLTAGE)

OK -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER Removal

2. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER (TFAR - SG-3 VOLTAGE)





(a) Remove the air conditioning amplifier with its connectors still connected Removal.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:





HINT
As the temperature increases, the voltage decreases.

NG -- INSPECT AIR DUCT SENSOR

OK -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER Removal

3. INSPECT AIR DUCT SENSOR





(a) Remove the air duct sensor Removal.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





HINT
As the temperature increases, the resistance decreases.

NG -- REPLACE AIR DUCT SENSOR Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER - AIR DUCT SENSOR)





(a) Disconnect the L87 air duct sensor connector.

(b) Disconnect the L77 air conditioning amplifier connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER Removal
