B1444/44 - Driver Side Cool Air Bypass Damper Control

DESCRIPTION

The damper servo (for driver side cool air bypass) sends pulse signals to inform the air conditioning amplifier of the damper position. The air conditioning amplifier activates the motor (normal, reverse) based on the signals to move the damper servo (for driver side cool air bypass) to any position. As a result, when the air conditioner is operating, the temperature of the air blowing toward the driver's head area is controlled.

HINT
Confirm that no mechanical problem is present because this diagnostic code can be output when either a damper link or damper is mechanically locked.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (COOL AIR BYPASS SERVO MOTOR TARGET PULSE (for Driver Side))

(a) Use the Data List to check if the servo motor is functioning properly.

Air conditioner





OK:

The display is as specified in the normal condition.

NG -- REPLACE COOL AIR BYPASS SERVO MOTOR (for Driver Side)

OK -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER Removal

2. REPLACE COOL AIR BYPASS SERVO MOTOR (for Driver Side)

(a) Replace the cool air bypass servo motor Disassembly.

HINT
Since the servo motor cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the servo motor with a normal one.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. RECHECK DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

(b) Check for DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

OK:

DTC B1444 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS Disassembly

OK -- END (COOL AIR BYPASS SERVO MOTOR (for Driver Side) IS DEFECTIVE)
