B1493/93 - Max Hot Bypass Damper COOL Control Circuit
DESCRIPTION
The max hot bypass damper servo motor (for COOL) sends pulse signals to inform the air conditioning amplifier of the damper position. The air conditioning amplifier activates the motor (normal, reverse) based on the signals to move the max hot bypass damper servo motor (for COOL) to any position. As a result, when the air conditioner is operating, the temperature of the air blowing toward the driver's head area is controlled.
HINT
Confirm that no mechanical problem is present because this diagnostic code can be output when either a damper link or damper is mechanically locked.

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MAX HOT BYPASS DAMPER SERVO MOTOR TARGET PULSE (for COOL))
(a) Use the Data List to check if the servo motor is functioning properly.
Air conditioner
OK:
The display is as specified in the normal condition.
NG -- REPLACE MAX HOT BYPASS SERVO MOTOR (for COOL)
OK -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER Removal
2. REPLACE MAX HOT BYPASS SERVO MOTOR (for COOL)
(a) Replace the max hot bypass servo motor Disassembly.
HINT
Since the servo motor cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the servo motor with a normal one.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. RECHECK DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.
(b) Check for DTCs DTC Check / Clear.
OK:
DTC B1493 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS Disassembly
OK -- END (MAX HOT BYPASS SERVO MOTOR (for COOL) IS DEFECTIVE)
