B14F1 - Seatback Peltier Temperature Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

Output to the seat climate control controller or rear seatback climate controller blower stops if one of the following occurs: 1) the seat climate control controller temperature sensor or rear seatback climate control blower temperature sensor is open or shorted; or 2) the temperature sensor is damaged and its output value does not change.

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTCs Climate Control Seat System.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SEATBACK TEMPERATURE SENSOR)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the temperature sensor.

3. INSPECT SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH





(a) Disconnect the e51 climate control controller connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH)





(a) Disconnect the e34 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the e51 climate control controller connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU Disassembly

5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SEATBACK TEMPERATURE SENSOR)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the temperature sensor.

6. INSPECT SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER RH





(a) Disconnect the e21 climate control controller connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER RH)





(a) Disconnect the e4 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the e21 climate control controller connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU Disassembly

8. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SEATBACK TEMPERATURE SENSOR)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the temperature sensor.

9. INSPECT REAR SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH





(a) Disconnect the f32 climate control blower connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.

10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU - REAR SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH)





(a) Disconnect the f28 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the f32 climate control blower connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU Disassembly

11. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SEATBACK TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
