B1583 - GPS Signal Unreceived

DESCRIPTION

If GPS satellite signals cannot be acquired for 16 consecutive kilometers (10 consecutive miles), this DTC is stored.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT
If DTC B15C0 or B15C1 is output at the same time as DTC B1583, perform troubleshooting for DTC B15C0 or B15C1 first.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that there are no problems with the telephone and GPS antenna.

OK:

The antenna is not excessively dirty and there are no objects blocking signal reception.

NG -- REMOVE FOREIGN OBJECT
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA

(a) Replace the telephone and GPS antenna Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the current and past DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Drive the vehicle for at least 24 km (15 miles).

HINT
The manual (SOS) switch red indicator will illuminate at approximately 16 km (10 miles) if the problem still exists.

(b) Turn the power switch off.

(c) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(d) Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.

(e) Perform "Health Check" and check for current and past DTCs Health Check.

HINT
Turning the power switch off will clear the current DTC. If the vehicle is driven approximately 16 km (10 miles) and the problem is still present, the DTC will be stored again.

5. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)

(a) Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) Removal.

NOTICE:
* The power switch must be off.
* Do not replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

NEXT -- PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION DCM Activation
