INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
After the power switch is turned OFF, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal:

* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

HINT
* Perform the simulation method by selecting "check mode" (signal check) with the Techstream Check Mode Procedure.
* After selecting "check mode" (signal check), perform the simulation method by wiggling each connector of the airbag system or driving the vehicle on various types of roads Diagnosis System.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG LH (REAR SIDE SQUIB LH)

(a) Turn the power switch OFF.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Disconnect the connector from the rear seat side airbag LH.

(d) Connect the red wire side of SST (resistance: 2.1 Ohms) to connector E.

CAUTION:
Never connect the tester to the rear seat side airbag LH (rear side squib LH) for measurement, as this may lead to a serious injury due to airbag deployment.

NOTICE:
* Do not forcibly insert SST into the terminals of the connector when connecting SST.
* Insert SST straight into the terminals of the connector.

SST : 09843-18061

(e) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

(f) Turn the power switch ON (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(g) Clear the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

(h) Turn the power switch OFF.

(i) Turn the power switch ON (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(j) Check for DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

OK:

DTC B1855, B1856, B1857 or B1858 is not output.

HINT
Codes other than DTC B1855, B1856, B1857 and B1858 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.
