B2414 - Steering Position Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The AFS ECU receives signals indicating the swerve-angle from the steering angle sensor using CAN communication.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
First perform the communication function inspections in HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING to confirm that there are no CAN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this symptom.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Check for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2414 output does not occur.

NG -- REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

2. REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

(a) Temporarily replace the steering angle sensor with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Recheck for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B2414 output does not reoccur.

NG -- REPLACE AFS ECU Removal

OK -- END (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR) Removal
