DESCRIPTION

* DTC B124D is stored when the main body ECU detects malfunctions in the LIN communication system.

* DTC B2432 is stored when the AFS ECU detects malfunctions in the LIN communication system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
First perform the communication function inspections in How to Proceed with Troubleshooting to confirm that there are no CAN communication malfunctions before troubleshooting this symptom.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B124D is not output.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY)

OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the A37 AFS ECU connector.





(b) Disconnect the X7 inner rear view mirror assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the inner rear view mirror with a new or normally functioning one Removal.

(b) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

OK:

DTC B124D or B2432 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE AFS ECU Removal

OK -- REPLACE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY Removal
