B2484 - Horn Circuit Transistor
DESCRIPTION
This DTC is output when one of the following occurs: 1) vehicle horn (high pitched or low pitched) is malfunctioning; 2) front light ECU (front controller) is malfunctioning; or 3) the wire harness between the front light ECU (front controller) and vehicle horn is open or shorted.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK HORN ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)
(a) Check if the horns sound normally.

HINT
If both horns do not sound, there may be a malfunction in the front controller.
B -- REPLACE FRONT LIGHT ECU (FRONT CONTROLLER)
A -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (VEHICLE HORNS)
(a) Operate the Techstream according to the steps on the display and select "Active Test" Data List / Active Test.

OK:
Horn operates normally.
NG -- INSPECT HORN ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE FRONT LIGHT ECU (FRONT CONTROLLER)
3. INSPECT HORN ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the low pitched horn Removal or high pitched horn Removal.
(b) Apply battery voltage and check the operation of the horn.
OK:
Result
C -- REPLACE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY Removal
B -- REPLACE HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY Removal
A -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT LIGHT ECU - HORN)
(a) Disconnect the B14 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the B6*1 or B10*2 horn connector.
*1: for High Pitched Horn
*2: for Low Pitched Horn
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
for High Pitched Horn
for Low Pitched Horn
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE FRONT LIGHT ECU (FRONT CONTROLLER)
