B2606 - Key Code Confirm Signal Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

A key code confirmation signal (ON or OFF) is sent from the main body ECU to the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU via the communication bus.

The multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU uses this signal to operate the auto away/return function.

1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT

The power tilt and power telescopic steering column system uses the CAN communication system, so check its diagnostic system before proceeding to troubleshooting.

(a) Check if DTC B2621 is output.

* If DTC B2621 besides B2602 and B2606 are output, perform troubleshooting for B2621 first.
* DTC B2621 indicates a communication interruption for the power tilt and power telescopic steering column system.

2. READ VALUE USING THE TECHSTREAM (COMMUNICATION STATE OF IG SW AND KEY CODE)

(a) Use the Data List to check if the communication state of IG SW and key code is functioning properly.

OK:

"ON" is displayed.

NG -- GO TO SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING) Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. RECONFIRM DTC OUTPUT

(a) Clear the DTC Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column System.

(b) Check for DTCs Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column System.

OK:

DTC B2602 and/or B2606 is not output.

NG -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU Removal

OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
