POWER STEERING: POWER STEERING SYSTEM: C1516,C1526: Torque Sensor Zero Point Adjustment Incomplete


DESCRIPTION

These DTCs do not indicate a malfunction. The power steering ECU outputs these DTCs when it determines that rotation angle sensor value initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration are incomplete.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CLEAR DTC

(a) Clear the DTC Power Steering System.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. INITIALIZE ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR AND CALIBRATE TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT

(a) Initialize the rotation angle sensor value and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Power Steering System.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. RECONFIRM DTC

(a) Check for DTCs Power Steering System.

Result





NOTICE:
If a DTC is output even though the rotation angle sensor value initialization and steering zero point calibration have been performed, confirm the procedure again, and perform the calibration and initialization 3 times.

HINT
Replace the power steering ECU if DTCs are still output after performing rotation angle sensor value initialization and steering zero point calibration 3 times.

4. REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU

(a) Replace the power steering ECU Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

5. CLEAR DTC

(a) Check for DTCs Power Steering System.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

6. INITIALIZE ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR AND CALIBRATE TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT

(a) Initialize the rotation angle sensor value and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Power Steering System.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

7. RECONFIRM DTC

(a) Check for DTCs Power Steering System.

NOTICE:
- If a DTC is output even though the rotation angle sensor value initialization and steering zero point calibration have been performed, confirm the procedure again, and perform the calibration and initialization 3 times.
- If replacing the power steering gear, clear the rotation angle sensor calibration value, initialize the rotation angle sensor value, and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Power Steering System.

HINT
Replace the power steering gear if DTCs are still output after performing rotation angle sensor value initialization and steering zero point calibration 3 times.
