PARK ASSIST / MONITORING: ADVANCED PARKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM: C1647,C1696: G Sensor Failure
DESCRIPTION
When the self-diagnosis of the parking assist ECU determines that the G sensor of the brake system (connected via CAN communication) is malfunctioning, this DTC is output.
HINT
When DTC C1647 is output, DTC C1696 is also output, and "System Initializing" is displayed.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
- When "System initializing" is displayed on the display and navigation module display after the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal, correct the steering angle neutral point Initialization.
- Depending on the parts that are replaced or operations that are performed during vehicle inspection or maintenance, calibration of other systems as well as the advanced parking guidance system may be needed Calibration.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Advanced Parking Guidance System.
(b) Check for DTCs Advanced Parking Guidance System.
Result
HINT
Even if this DTC is output, steering angle control is performed (only engine speed control does not operate).

2. PERFORM G SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
(a) Perform the G sensor zero point calibration Calibration.

3. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Advanced Parking Guidance System.
(b) Check for DTCs Advanced Parking Guidance System.
Result
HINT
- If DTC C1696 is output, perform the G sensor zero point calibration again.
- If DTC C1696 is still output after performing the G sensor zero point calibration 3 times, replace the parking assist ECU.
