C1942 - Malfunction in Signal from Steering Sensor to Front Active Stabilizer Control ECU

DESCRIPTION

If the front active stabilizer control ECU receives a steering sensor malfunction signal, DTC C1942 is output. The steering sensor is diagnosed by the skid control ECU and steering control ECU. If electronically controlled brake system and Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) system related DTCs are output, perform a diagnosis for those DTCs. If no electronically controlled brake or VGRS system DTCs are output, there may be a malfunction in the front active stabilizer control ECU.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC (ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM AND VGRS SYSTEM)

(a) Turn the power switch OFF.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the power switch ON (READY) and the Techstream on.

(d) Check that no electronically controlled brake system DTCs are output Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes, and that no VGRS system DTCs are output Variable Gear Ratio Steering System.
