P1606-317 - Collision Detection
DESCRIPTION
In the event of a collision, the hybrid vehicle control ECU receives a signal from the airbag ECU assembly that indicates a collision. After a collision is detected, the hybrid vehicle control ECU shuts off the high-voltage systems for safety.
HINT
If P1606-308 or P1606-317 is stored, the hybrid system cannot be turned on unless the DTCs are cleared using the Techstream.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK VEHICLE FOR COLLISION DAMAGE
(a) Check the vehicle condition.
Result:
B -- REPAIR VEHICLE
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(d) Check if DTCs are output.
Result:
B -- GO TO DTC CHART (P0A1D) Hybrid Control System
A -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
(a) Troubleshoot the airbag system.
Result:
B -- REPAIR MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA
A -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK INFORMATION CODE
(a) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(b) Access the freeze frame data of DTC P1606 and read the INF code.
Result:
B -- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
A -- REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY Components
5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
(a) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(b) Check if DTCs are output.
