ENGINE IMMOBILIZER: ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

* Use these procedures to troubleshoot the engine immobilizer system.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
Standard voltage:
11 to 14 V
* If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

3. CHECK FOR DTC*
(a) Check for DTCs and make a note of any codes that are output Engine Immobilizer System.
(b) Clear the DTC Engine Immobilizer System.
(c) Recheck for DTCs Engine Immobilizer System. Based on the DTCs output above, try to cause the output of the same hybrid control system DTC, LIN communication system DTC, steering lock system DTC or engine immobilizer system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.
