2. FUEL LID OPENER SYSTEM FUNCTION

The fuel lid opener switch is located on the lower left underside of the instrument panel. Using this switch, the fuel filler door can be opened.

When pressing the fuel lid opener switch, a fuel lid open request signal is sent to the ECM, and the fuel lid opener motor actuates to open the fuel lid. While the theft deterrent system is operating, the fuel filler door cannot be opened by the switch operation in order to prevent theft.

If the fuel filler door is already open, an OFF signal from the fuel lid courtesy switch is input to the ECM, and that data is sent to the Combination meter. The Combination meter which received the data, displays the message "CLOSE FUEL LID" on the multi-information display to prompt the driver to close the fuel filler door, and indicate that the fuel lid opener switch operation is invalid.
