INSTRUMENT PANEL: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: INSTALLATION

HINT
A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Standard Bolt - Specified Torque For Standard Bolts.

1. INSTALL NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY

(a) Attach the 5 claws to install the 5 No. 3 instrument panel stays.

2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Attach the 5 claws to install the instrument panel safety pad.

(b) Install the 5 bolts and nut.

(c) Install the 2 passenger airbag bolts.

Torque : 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

(d) Connect the connectors and attach the clamps.

(e) Attach the 2 claws to install the sensor.

5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Installation

7. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) Installation

8. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

9. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) Installation

10. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

11. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connector.

(b) Hold the bottom with your left hand and side with your right hand. Then insert the register into the instrument panel opening.

NOTICE:
Do not let the claws on the sides of the register contact the instrument panel surface.

HINT
Insert the bottom of the register first.

(c) Press in the 4 claws simultaneously to install the No. 2 instrument panel register.

12. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connector.

(b) Hold the bottom with your right hand and side with your left hand. Then insert the register into the instrument panel opening.

NOTICE:
Do not let the claws on the sides of the register contact the instrument panel surface.

HINT
Insert the bottom of the register first.

(c) Press in the 4 claws simultaneously to install the No. 1 instrument panel register.

13. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Installation

16. INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY Installation

17. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connector and attach the clamp to install the glove compartment door.

(b) Install the 5 screws.

18. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING

(a) Attach the 5 clips to install the No. 2 instrument cluster moulding.

19. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Installation

20. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL Installation

21. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connector.

(b) Attach the 4 claws to install the No. 2 instrument panel under cover.

22. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

(a) Attach the 6 clips to install the instrument side panel.

23. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Installation

24. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connectors and attach the clamp.

(b) Attach the 2 claws.

(c) Install the No. 1 instrument panel under cover with the 2 screws.

25. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connector.

(b) Install the combination meter with the 4 screws.

26. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Hold the back of the finish panel trip switch with your right hand, and connect the connector with your left hand.

(b) Hold the back of the finish panel light control rheostat with your right hand, and connect the connector with your left hand.

(d) Press up the lower right side of the finish panel to attach the clip.

NOTICE:
If the trip switch is pressed to attach the clip, the switch will be damaged.

(e) Press up the lower left side of the finish panel to attach the clip.

NOTICE:
If the light control rheostat switch is pressed to attach the clip, the switch will be damaged.

(f) Install the 2 clips.

27. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connectors.

(b) Attach the 5 clips and claw to install the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad.

(c) Install the 2 screws.

(d) Attach the claw to install the cover.

28. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING

(a) Attach the 2 clips to install the No. 1 instrument cluster moulding.

29. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

(a) Attach the 6 clips to install the instrument side panel.

30. INSTALL HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the headlight dimmer switch assembly Installation.

31. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

(a) w/o Rear Seat Entertainment System:

Install the console box assembly Installation.

(b) w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System:

Install the console box assembly Installation.

32. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
* Reset the AUTO TILT AWAY function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter Repair Instruction - Customize Parameters.
* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
33. INSTALL BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Installation

34. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire) Installation

35. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

36. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
