Battery: Testing and Inspection





2UR-FSE CHARGING: BATTERY: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. CHECK BATTERY

NOTICE:
If the battery is fully depleted or "READY" does not light up, recharge the battery. Check the battery again before the vehicle is returned to the customer.

(a) Check the battery for damage or deformation.

If there is damage, deformation or leakage, replace the battery.

(b) Eliminate any surface charge.

(1) Drive the vehicle, and stop the engine.

(2) Within 20 seconds after the engine is stopped, turn the power switch ON, and turn on electrical systems (the headlights, blower motor and rear window defogger, etc.).

(c) Turn the power switch OFF, and turn off the electrical systems.

(d) Wait 20 minutes, and then measure the battery voltage.

(1) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

HINT
If the voltage is not as specified, charge the battery.

2. CHECK BATTERY TERMINAL AND FUSE

(a) Visually check the battery terminals.

(1) Check that the battery terminals are not loose or corroded.

(b) Check the H-fuses, M-fuses and fuses.

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





(1) If the results are not as specified, replace the H-fuses, M-fuses and fuses as necessary.
