1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Removal
4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Removal
5. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP
(a) Remove the service plug grip Removal.
6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
8. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET Removal
9. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal
10. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal
11. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Removal
12. REMOVE MOTOR CABLE COVER RH Removal
13. REMOVE INVERTER COVER ASSEMBLY RH Removal
14. REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY Installation
15. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE Installation
16. INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY Components
17. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR COVER Removal
18. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER Removal
19. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH Removal
20. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH Removal
21. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Removal
22. REMOVE FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR Removal
23. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the front exhaust pipe Removal.
24. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the propeller shaft Removal.
25. DISCONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
26. LOOSEN FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY Removal
27. DRAIN TRANSFER OIL Service and Repair
28. REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the ground cable.
(b) Using a jack and wooden blocks or equivalent, support the transfer.
NOTICE:
Do not set the wooden blocks or equivalent against the oil pan of the transmission.
(c) Remove the 4 bolts, 5 nuts, No. 3 rear engine mounting insulator and rear engine mounting member.
(d) While supporting the front propeller shaft assembly by hand, remove the 12 bolts and 4 universal joint washers.
(e) Remove the front propeller shaft assembly from each companion flange.
NOTICE:
Do not bend the front propeller shaft at an excessive angle.
(f) Remove the 3 bolts.
(g) Install the rear engine mounting member and No. 3 rear engine mounting insulator with the 4 bolts and 5 nuts.
(h) Set an engine lift and wooden blocks or equivalent against the rear engine mounting member and support the hybrid vehicle transmission.
NOTICE:
Do not set the wooden blocks or equivalent against the oil pan of the transmission.
(i) Remove the 4 bolts and disconnect the rear engine mounting member.
(j) Slowly tilt the hybrid vehicle transmission away from the vehicle.
NOTICE:
Be careful of the exhaust manifold and wire harnesses when tilting the transmission.
(k) Make sure the wooden blocks or equivalent are set securely against the transfer with the jack.
(l) Remove the 8 bolts and transfer.
NOTICE:
* Do not damage the oil seal.
* Be careful not to drop the transfer assembly.
* Be sure to perform this procedure with several people as the transfer assembly is very heavy.
(m) Connect the rear engine mounting member with the 4 bolts.
