DESCRIPTION
The front controller receives washer switch information from the front wiper switch, and operates the wash relay.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (FRONT WASHER MOTOR)
(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester or Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the front washer motor.
NOTICE:
When a BODY NO. 5 (front controller) related vehicle switch is ON, ACTIVE TEST items related to the vehicle switch are prohibited (double operation prohibition). Check that the vehicle switches are OFF before performing ACTIVE TEST.

Washer motor operates.
NG -- INSPECT FRONT WASHER MOTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
2. INSPECT FRONT WASHER MOTOR
(a) Remove the front washer motor ( Removal).
(b) Apply battery voltage to the front washer motor and check the operation of the front washer motor.
OK:
NG -- REPLACE FRONT WASHER MOTOR Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT WASHER MOTOR - FRONT CONTROLLER AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the A51 front controller connector.
(b) Disconnect the A1 motor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE FRONT CONTROLLER
