DESCRIPTION

When the ignition switch is turned ON, battery positive (+) voltage is applied to the theft warning ECU.

INSEPCTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT FUSE (AM1, MPX-IG)

(a) Remove the AM1 and MPX-IG fuses from the driver side junction block.

(b) Measure the resistance of the fuses.

Standard resistance:

Below 1 Ohms

NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT IGNITION RELAY NO. 1

(a) Remove the IG1 relay from the driver side junction block.





(b) Measure the resistance of the relay.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE IGNITION RELAY NO. 1
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Measure the resistance of the switch.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (IGNITION SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the I18 switch connector.





(b) Measure the resistance and voltage of the wire harness side connector.

Standard resistance:





Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (THEFT WARNING ECU - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the T7 ECU connector.





(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
