Smart Access System With Push-Button Start (For Entry Function)
THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY: SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (for Entry Function): SYSTEM DIAGRAM
* This is a detailed diagram related to certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).
* This is a detailed diagram related to main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
1. VEHICLE AUXILIARY BATTERY SAVING FUNCTION
(a) When the smart access system with push-button start (for Entry Function) is operating, the vehicle performs key detection operations every 0.25 seconds. Therefore, if the vehicle left as is for a long period of time, the auxiliary battery may become fully discharged. The following controls help reduce the rate at which the auxiliary battery is depleted.
(1) If the hybrid system is not started for 5 days or more, periodic signal transmission from the electrical key antennas stops. However, the doors can still be unlocked by touching the unlock sensor of a front door outside handle assembly.
(2) If the hybrid system is not started for 14 days or more, the lock and unlock sensors of the front passenger door outside handle assembly are disabled. Therefore, only the unlock sensor of the front door outside handle assembly of the driver door can be used to unlock the doors.
(3) If 10 minutes or more elapse while the key is in the detection area (including the vehicle interior), smart access system with push-button start control stops operating.
(b) To restore operation of the smart access system with push-button start, perform any of the following operations.
(1) While carrying the key, touch the lock or unlock sensor of the front door outside handle assembly of the driver side door and perform a door lock or unlock operation.
(2) Lock or unlock the doors with the wireless operation.
(3) Insert the mechanical key into the door key cylinder of the driver door and lock or unlock the doors.
2. WIRELESS BUZZER VOLUME ADJUSTMENT FUNCTION
(a) The volume of the wireless buzzer can be changed through the customize function.
HINT
The volume of the following wireless buzzer operations cannot be adjusted.
* Warning function buzzer operations
* Customize function buzzer operations
* Buzzer operations for key diagnostic mode using the Techstream
* Key registration buzzer operations
3. WARNING FUNCTION
(a) Warning
(1) When any of the situations below occur, the smart access system with push-button start causes the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) to sound a buzzer in the combination meter assembly and the wireless door lock buzzer, a message to appear on the multi-information display, and the power switch illumination to operate in order to alert the driver.
(2) Situation: The key reminder sounds.
* When the driver door is open, the driver turns the power switch on (ACC) and attempts to leave the vehicle.
(3) Situation: The hybrid control system is left running and park (P) has been selected when the driver gets out of the vehicle.
* There are 2 patterns for this situation.
* Pattern 1:
When the hybrid control system is left running and park (P) has been selected, the driver closes the driver door and attempts to leave the vehicle while holding the key.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
* Pattern 2:
Under the situation of pattern 1, the driver touches the lock sensor on the door outside handle assembly.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
(4) Situation: Door is ajar.
* The lock sensor on the door outside handle assembly is touched to perform entry lock with a door open.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
(5) Situation: The hybrid control system is left running when a passenger gets out of the vehicle while holding the key.
* When the hybrid control system is left running, a passenger leaves the vehicle while holding the key.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
(6) Situation: The key is not in the detection areas.
* When the key is not in the vehicle or the key battery is dead, the driver attempts to start the hybrid control system or turn the power switch on (IG).
In this situation, the following control is performed:
(7) Situation: The key is left in the vehicle.
* There are two patterns for this situation.
* Pattern 1:
The lock sensor on a door outside handle assembly is touched to perform entry lock with the key left in the vehicle.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
* Pattern 2:
With a door open and the key in the vehicle, the lock knob is locked and then the door is closed with the door handle being pulled.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
(8) Situation: The key battery is weak.
* The vehicle is driven using a key that has a low battery.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
(9) Situation: The power management ECU is malfunctioning.
* A malfunction of the power management control ECU is detected.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
(10) Situation: The hybrid control system does not start. (Situation A)
* There are two patterns for this situation.
* Pattern 1:
A warning message appears on the multi-information display when the driver does not follow the proper procedure to start the vehicle.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
* Pattern 2:
A message indicating how to start the hybrid control system appears on the multi-information display when the shift lever is in a position in which the hybrid control system cannot be started.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
(11) Situation: The hybrid control system does not start. (Situation B)
* There are two patterns for this situation.
* Pattern 1:
When the power switch is pushed, the key cannot be detected in the vehicle two times in a row.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
*1: When the brake pedal is depressed.
*2: When the brake pedal is not depressed.
* Pattern 2:
The driver attempts to start the hybrid control system after performing a driver door key linked unlock operation.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
(12) Situation: Immobilizer system certification completion occurs.
* A warning message appears on the multi-information display when a key with a depleted battery is touched to the power switch while depressing the brake.
In this situation, the following control is performed:
