THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY: ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

* Use these procedures to troubleshoot the engine immobilizer system.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

2. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE
Standard Voltage:
11 to 14 V
* If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

3. TURN POWER SWITCH ON (IG)
HINT
If the power switch cannot be turned on (IG), communication with the Techstream can be confirmed by connecting the Techstream to the vehicle and turning a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the Techstream and vehicle begins.

4. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*
(a) Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally Diagnosis System.

5. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*
