INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

Upper Instrument Panel

NOTICE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD Removal

3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX Removal

4. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 FLOOR BOARD Removal

5. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH Removal

6. REMOVE REAR FLOOR BOARD UPPER NO. 3 PLATE Removal

7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

8. REMOVE METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Operate the tilt and telescopic lever to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.

(b) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and 2 guides.

(d) Disconnect the connector and remove the meter hood sub-assembly.

9. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal

10. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH Removal

11. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws, clip and 4 guides, and remove the instrument side panel LH.

12. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 8 claws and clip.

(b) Disconnect each connector and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.

13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal

14. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 4 claws and 3 guides, and remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.

15. REMOVE NO. 1 DEFROSTER NOZZLE OPENING PLATE

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and remove the No. 1 defroster nozzle opening plate.

16. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips and 2 guides, and remove the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

17. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) Removal

18. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

19. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws, clip and 4 guides, and remove the instrument side panel RH.

20. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 2 clips, claw and guide.

(b) Disengage the clamp.

(c) Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

22. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

23. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

24. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 4 screws [C>.

(b) Disengage the 5 claws.

(c) Disengage the clamp.

(d) Disconnect the connector and remove the glove compartment door assembly.

25. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

26. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (for Metal Finish Panel and Urethane Panel)

(a) Disengage the 5 clips and remove the No. 3 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

27. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (for Wood Panel and Bamboo Panel)

(a) Disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 3 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

28. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 7 claws and 3 guides, and remove the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly.

29. REMOVE NO. 2 DEFROSTER NOZZLE OPENING PLATE

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the No. 2 defroster nozzle opening plate.

30. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

31. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

32. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER OPENING COVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 1 speaker opening cover assembly.

33. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Center Speaker) Removal

34. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 8 claws and 3 guides.

(b) Disconnect the connector and remove the center instrument panel register assembly.

35. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 14 claws.

(b) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

36. DISCONNECT NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE Removal

37. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect each connector.

(b) Disengage the clamp.

(d) Disengage the 12 claws.

(e) Disengage the 5 guides and remove the upper instrument panel assembly as shown in the illustration.
