AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: REAR AXLE HUB: REMOVAL
NOTICE:
When the brake pedal is first depressed after replacing the brake pads or pushing back the disc brake piston, DTC C1214 may be output. As there is no malfunction, clear the DTC.
HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work. Service Precautions
2. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL Removal
3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
5. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH Removal
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH Removal
7. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
8. LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE CABLE Removal
9. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM COVER Removal
10. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER PROTECTOR Removal
11. DISCONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY Removal
12. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY Replacement
13. REMOVE REAR DISC Removal
14. DISCONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE Removal
15. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 4 bolts, rear disc brake dust cover sub-assembly and the rear axle hub and bearing assembly from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.
