APPLICABILITY:

INTRODUCTION:









Some 2010 - 2011 ES350 vehicles may experience a condition where the chrome finish on the door switch base is deteriorating. New parts have been developed to correct this condition. Use the following procedures to replace ALL 4 door switch base finish plates.

PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION:








This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown.

REQUIRED TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Left Hand Front Repair
1. Remove front door armrest base panel assembly.








A. Using a pry tool, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips, disconnect the connector and remove the front door switch base assembly.








2. Remove the 2 pieces of felt from the switch base.








3. Remove the 10 screws.








4. Remove the switch assembly.








5. Remove steel bracket.














6. Release the retaining tab and separate the trim panel from the finish plate.








7. Fully seat the retaining tab and install the trim panel to the NEW finish plate.








8. Install steel bracket.








9. Install the switch assembly and the 10 screws.




















10. Apply NEW felt supplied with the finish plate.

NOTE
Do not allow edges of felt to protrude.


11. Connect the connector, engage the 5 claws and 3 clips, and install the front door switch base assembly.

Right Hand Front Repair Procedure








1. Remove front door armrest base panel assembly.
A. Using a pry tool, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips, disconnect the connector and remove the front door switch base assembly.








2. Remove the 3 pieces of felt from the switch base.








3. Release the 2 retaining tabs and remove the power door lock switch.








4. Remove the 11 screws.








5. Remove the power window switch.














6. Release the retaining tab and separate the trim panel from the finish plate.








7. Fully seat the retaining tab and install the trim panel to the NEW finish plate.








8. Install the power window switch assembly and the 11 screws.








9. Fully seat the two retaining tabs and install the power door lock switch assembly.




















10. Apply new felt supplied with the finish plate.

NOTE
Do not allow edges of felt to protrude.


11. Connect the connector, engage the 5 claws and 3 clips and install the front door switch base.

LH or RH Rear Repair Procedure








1. Remove rear door armrest base panel assembly.
A. Using a pry tool, disengage the 7 claws and 3 clips, disconnect the connector and remove the rear door armrest base panel assembly.








2. Remove the 3 pieces of felt from the switch base.








3. Remove the 13 screws.








4. Remove the power window switch assembly.














5. Release the retaining tab and separate the trim panel from the finish plate.








6. Fully seat the retaining tab and install the trim panel to the NEW finish plate.








7. Install the power window switch assembly and the 13 screws.




















8. Apply new felt supplied with the finish plate.

NOTE
Do not allow edges of felt to protrude.


9. Connect the connector, engage the 5 claws and 3 clips and install the front door switch base.
